Being asked to be a pallbearer is an honor. As a pallbearer, you should arrive at the funeral service at least 30 minutes to an hour early for the ceremony. You’ll receive special instructions regarding where you should sit, when you should stand up with the rest of the pallbearers, and how you should escort your loved one to his or her final resting place.
You can hear more about executing this special honor by watching this video. You’ll learn the details of using the handles on the casket to lift your loved one and you’ll hear how you may receive a special pin to identify you as a pallbearer.
